Through a strategic partnership between Shield Glass Technology and British Aluminium, both companies deliver integrated glazing solutions that set new benchmarks in safety, performance, and design. British Aluminium’s fire-rated systems, developed with European-sourced, thermally broken aluminium and steel profiles, are rigorously tested for fire integrity, insulation, and radiation control complemented by Shield Glass Technology’s expertise in advanced glass solutions.
Technical Specification
- Fire resistance classes: EI30 to EI120 (steel), EI30 to EI90 (aluminium)
- Fully thermally broken profiles with U-values as low as 1.6 W/(m²K)
- Glazing range: 9–49mm, including clear and laminated fire-rated glass
- High air, water, and dust performance (Class 4 air permeability, E900 water tightness)
- Available with single/double leaf doors, fixed screens, curtain walls, and sliding doors
Testing & Certification
All fire-resistant systems are developed by British Aluminium based on fully certified European systems and tested according to EN 13501-2 and UL 10C standards. Our systems achieve classifications including:
- E (Integrity) – prevents passage of flames and gases
- EW (Integrity & Radiation Control) – limits thermal radiation
- EI (Integrity & Insulation) –blocks heat transfer and maintains safe ambient temperature
Testing includes air permeability, watertightness, and mechanical durability, verified by third-party labs including Intertek, Emirates Safety Lab, and Certifire.
Applications
Our fire-rated products are ideal for:
- High-rise residential and commercial buildings
- Hospitals and healthcare environments
- Educational institutions and public buildings
- Airports, metro stations, and mixed-use developments
British Aluminium systems are available in both visible-frame and frameless “glass wall” formats. Our steel and aluminium solutions combine safety with contemporary design, supporting flexible architectural layouts with full compliance to international civil defence codes.
